CTG teams up with GTC Duke Racing in 2007 to push forward the challenge in the Pro drag series. CTG are suppliers of TORQline advanced composite propshafts, the one to be used on the Duke Skyline is straight off the shelf, hopefully proving that anyone can buy a high performance composite propshaft.
In October 2006, at Europe’s best and only reliable Drag racing strip FIA timing equipped Santa pod raceway. Tim Webster smashed the long standing 8 sec barrier and with it the European 4wd record no less than four times, winning the Jap show pro shoot out with an 8.80 @ 162 mph.
Tim Webster said ‘This is a fanatic opportunity to team up with TORQline, the only company able to offer us a propshaft that not only saves on weight but also increases performance. In order to help us deliver more consistent 8 second runs in 2007, without worry of the stock prop failing under pressure of a genuine 1000bhp 8 second GTR. We need the immense strength, and performance benefits of the advanced composite TORQline CS propshaft. TORQline composite propshafts are amazingly strong and offer high performance even under extreme conditions. My launch 0-60ft times can certainly be improved upon in 07 and there is no reason why we shouldn’t see an 8.5 this year.'
Leon Houseman from CTG said ‘The Duke team have already performed well with some great times in 2006, the addition of a TORQline CS composite propshaft will no doubt improve their times as our propshaft is 60% lighter than the standard shaft. This decrease in weight gives less rotational inertia and faster acceleration, making them ideal for drag racing.’
CTG wishes the GTC Duke team the best of luck for the new season.
