Sumo Power have regained the European 4WD drag record at Santa Pod using their Fuujin Nissan Skyline GTR.
The best time that they recorded was 8.27 @ 164mph and also a blistering 60ft time of 1.23 seconds, further evidence that the TORQline advanced composite propshaft is performing to the highest standards delivering much faster acceleration.
Andy Barnes, Fuujin’s driver and also MD of Sumo Power said:
‘Regaining the 4WD record is a positive step for us and we are pleased to be back on top after retiring our old car back in 2004 when it also held the record. FUUJIN's real development has only just started and bearing in mind the car has only ever run 4 times since we built it a year ago from new, 8.2 is a good result when we consider we are still only using 900bhp and intend to run in excess of 1200bhp in the latter stages of the cars development. Without doubt the most impressive part of the run is the 60 feet time which was 1.23 seconds’.
With consistent performances from many TORQline equipped cars in the 4WD drag series this gives further proof to the benefits of a considerably lighter propshaft but also with the strength to handle the massive amounts of power put through them. Other TORQline customers include Tim Webster in the GTC Duke Skyline and also Keith Cowie in his RB Motorsport Skyline.
